TOP MARQUES MONACO 2007
According to AutoTrader, “in Monte Carlo, petrol heads were wowed by the Top Marques Monaco show with more supercars than a rich car nut can shake a stick at!”
Under the high patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, Top Marques Monaco opened wide its doors for four wild days at the Grimaldi Forum. The fourth edition of this unique carshow was more than a success; it was a resounding triumph. Synonymous with the glamour and impressive history of great car events in the Principality, Top Marques Monaco far surpassed all expectations. Not only in attendance (more than 19,000) and sales (approximately Eur 25 – 30 Million), but in the quality of the visitors that passed through the doors into the dream world of the most exciting cars and luxury products in the universe. The stands were busy at what they prefer to do best - selling, all because of the type of visitors that our sponsors brought to Monaco.
Citi Private Bank's tentacles over stretched themselves to bring bankers and their premium clients from the four corners of the world; India, Argentina, Brazil, UK, USA, Switzerland, just to name a few. Monte-Carlo Wines, who displayed a very impressive array of spirits inside the Salle Ravel (no sampling; test drives oblige!) had already impressed Citi Private Bank with the most delectable caviar that can grace the palates during a private dinner. Moghadam and some of our local car exhibitors brought us giants from the Principality who put their hands in their wallets. VIPRUSSIA brought just a few magazines with them and they went like hotcakes: perhaps it was because of all those Knight Frank ads sporting the hottest properties in Saint Petersburg and Moscow! Moore Stephens had Stuart Grady on stand-by, the Aussie award winning cyclist sprinter who had just won the Paris - Roubaix race, one of the most gruelling races in pro-cycling. Stuart had broadcasted to the world after winning that the only thing that made his legs go so fast was the thought of test-driving a Pagani Zonda at Top Marques Monaco! And the list goes on: Fisker sold more than 9 cars; there will be many Seabobs bobbing in the seas all the way to Mexico: the smallest car in the show - the child-size Bugatti sold two cars to the same buyer; Koenigsegg, Wiesmann, Lamborghini, Yes Roadster, Gumpert, Carver, Bionica with its massaging chairs; Overfinch, Jaguar, Porsche, Hollisters, Audi and others are smiling all the way to the bank, including the Schiffini kitchen and the BFA billiards (who sold everything on their stand)! You have to admire the Trident Iceni that headed to Monaco from the UK with one tank of gas. However, the owner decided to do something else and not come. A buyer was waiting in the wings to purchase the car. The manufacturers started their design engines and low and behold, a new Trident rolled in to Top Marques on Sunday 22, 2007! Now that’s a story! GoldVish’s Million Dollar portable phone found a home in the hands of a privileged millionaire!
Over the weekend, we were flooded by the Tennis Open crowds who came to be thrilled, admire and dream. Many millionaires left with their heads turning: too much beauty in one glimpse!
Top Marques Monaco takes this opportunity to thank you our sponsors, exhibitors, media and press and all our visitors: you were all the Top of the Marques in helping make this unique car show the most spectacular luxury and supercar show on the planet!
